My name is Jonathan, I am a Montreal based student. I created this blog to document my thoughts and findings on the market. I currently attend Concordia’s John Molson School of Business and I see myself in a finance related career.
The idea that certain assets could appreciate in value has fascinated me since I was young. It started with a coin collection; seeing hundred year old pennies selling for more than their face value intrigued me. I then started to watch the precious metals market; gold, silver, platinum, palladium etc. I made my first investment in silver bullion at 15 years old after doing some research and following its spot price.
In high school, we were required to do a ‘personal project’ that spanned a whole year. I choose to do my project on trading FOREX. I found a simple technical analysis strategy on the internet using simple moving averages, RSI and stochastic oscillators. I then opened a practice account and pretend-traded for a few months and documented my results on a blog: https://jonathandybkablog.wordpress.com/ . The trading strategy did not turn out to be profitable. This however, inspired me to continue to look/create profitable trading strategies.
I will post my research and any interesting findings I come across on this blog. All with the end goal of finding a strategy that can consistently outperform the market.
Whether you are a novice student of the market or a seasoned professional, I welcome you to my site!
“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation: we not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather have these because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
